This talk explores how UX design principles and Figma’s creative flexibility can shape not just digital products, but physical ones, like clothing. As a UX designer and founder of sofiatabouche, an upcycled clothing brand, I navigate two seemingly different worlds: tailoring garments and designing user interfaces. But at their core, both are about people, systems, and intentional creation.
I’ll walk the audience through how I use Figma to:
Prototype fashion collections with storytelling and accessibility in mind
Design product pages and e-commerce experiences that reflect brand values
Manage visual assets and collaboration as a solo creative
Reimagine what “user experience” means when the product is something you wear
This session is for creative thinkers, designers, entrepreneurs, and fashion lovers curious about how UX tools can go beyond screens and into the seams of how we craft and sell. As a UX designer and founder of an upcycled clothing brand, I’ll share how I apply digital design principles to physical products, using Figma as my core creative tool.
From sketching upcycled garments and designing lookbooks to building e-commerce flows and content systems, I use Figma not just to prototype interfaces, but to prototype ideas, about sustainability, storytelling, and craft. This talk will explore what it means to treat fashion as experience design and how a platform like Figma can empower small businesses to work smarter, iterate faster, and build with purpose.
I'm bringing this topic to the stage to share a different lens on UX. Figma isn’t just for tech teams, it’s a playground for all creatives. And when you mix design thinking with materials destined for waste, the results can be surprisingly powerful. Upcycling is about rethinking value. UX is about rethinking experience. Combining the two opens up a new way of working that’s creative, resourceful, and scalable, especially for small businesses and independent designers.
