What is Friends of Figma?
Check our community
Friends of Figma (FoF) are the official Figma community groups, and we exist so our creator community can come together and learn. It’s a project run by the community, for the community, and everyone is welcome. In Portugal we have existed since 2020, and we've been running 20+ events per year, totally free for designers on all career levels, across the country. From Lisbon, to Porto, Coimbra, Aveiro and even Faro, FoF Portugal leads meetups, workshops, livestreams and even the occasional happy hour.
Layers is our very own regional conference organized by the Friends of Figma, Portugal chapter of the official Figma communities, and the first ever official Friends of Figma conference, running since 2023.
It's a free, two day, hybrid conference with talks from a mix of members of the Community and some guests.
As a conference led by the community, for the community, our stage has hosted 25+ speakers from companies like Figma, OutSystems, Miro, Shopify, Volvo and many others that were eager to share their knowledge, and their time with the Portugal and online audience, averaging 1200 attendees each edition, including 250 in-person in Lisbon back in 2024.
This year, Layers is happening both online, and in-person in Porto.
On October 9, we will meet online with a lineup full of amazing guest and community speakers from all around the world. On October 10, we're meeting at the Porto Office Park, where our partners at ebankIT are based. We're planning a smaller, more intimate gathering for a smaller group of the community. It'll be a chance to connect and share ideas in a more relaxed setting, where the content is just one part of the experience.
When does it happen?
Layers will take place online on October 9, and in-person on October 10, 2025.
The online event on October 9 will run from 9:15 am to 6:15 pm Lisbon time. The Opening Session is scheduled to begin at 9:45 am.
On October 10, the in-person event will take place from 9:00 am to 6:15 pm, with doors opening at 8:30 am.
